Here, you look down on the lagoon. Beneath its soaring timber roof, the house opens onto every shade of Moorea blue, from the turquoise of early morning to the gold of evening, when the sun sets right in front of you.
All around, a tropical garden of frangipani and palms, and the quiet of a private residence tucked away behind its gate.
Arriving
Three cool, quiet bedrooms for a proper night's sleep: one with two single beds, two with a queen bed. A kitchen our guests always mention, equipped right down to the Nespresso machine for your first coffee facing the lagoon. Wifi, a washing machine and a dryer. Bath and hand towels, soap: everything is provided, just bring your suitcase. And outside, the real heart of the place: a wide terrace, a deck with wooden loungers, a balcony open to the ocean, a private hot tub turned toward the sunset, an outdoor shower, and a little covered fare on the terrace, the loveliest spot for lunch or dinner facing the lagoon.

Who it's for
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a baby cot on request. The children head for the residence pool, the parents keep the view.
A honeymoon, a birthday, or simply time to do nothing. The hot tub at sunset, coffee facing the lagoon.
Up to six, a bed for everyone, and a wide terrace for long dinners under the little fare.

The residence
A palm-fringed pool for lazy afternoons, a tennis court at the foot of the hills, a gym to keep up the pace: the residence shares plenty with its guests to fill the days. Rackets and balls are waiting at the house.
For a few groceries, the shop is at the foot of the residence. And to set off around the island, a car rental agency sits right at the entrance.
Things to do in Moorea
Our favourite: a day on the lagoon with Captain Taina, out to the motu with mask and snorkel. Lunch depends on the package you choose.
A hike that starts at the Opunohu lookout and climbs through the forest. Good shoes, and an eye on the weather: the trail gets slippery fast after rain.
The nearest beach, and all around a wide choice of restaurants, many right by the water.

Getting around
The beach is five minutes away, and so are the first restaurants. From Tahiti, Moorea is a short hop by ferry or plane, and the villa is just a drive away. Times shown are by car from the house.
From roughly July to October, humpback whales pass offshore: some mornings you catch a distant blow, a tail, sometimes a breach. Never promised, always watched for.
